Samsung Electronics announced record demand for its new Galaxy Z Fold8 series of foldable smartphones. According to the results of the pre-order campaign in South Korea, the new products collected 1,44 million applications, which was the best result in the history of Galaxy smartphones.
A new record for the Galaxy line
According to edition, Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy Z Fold8 series has surpassed all of the company's previous models in terms of pre-orders in the domestic market.
The figure of 1,44 million orders exceeded:
- 1,04 million pre-orders of the Galaxy Z Fold7 series recorded last year;
- 1,38 million orders for the Galaxy Note10, which previously held the absolute record among Samsung smartphones.
The highest demand is for the Galaxy Z Fold8
The most popular model in the new series was the Galaxy Z Fold8, which accounted for about 70% of all pre-orders.
Thus, the flagship folding smartphone alone has collected approximately 1 million pre-orders, which is an unprecedented result for devices of this form factor.

Key features of Galaxy Z Fold8
According to Samsung, the smartphone received:
- 5,5-inch external display;
- 7,6-inch internal folding screen;
- Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels;
- adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz;
- support for HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG standards.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 for Galaxy processor is responsible for performance.
Memory configurations include:
- 12 GB + 256 GB;
- 12 GB + 512 GB;
- 16 GB + 1 TB.
Cameras and videography
The main camera consists of two 50-megapixel modules:
- wide-angle camera with optical stabilization (OIS);
- ultra-wide-angle sensor.
The smartphone is also equipped with two front-facing 10-megapixel cameras — separate for the external and internal displays.
All cameras support 4K HDR recording at up to 60 frames per second, and the main module is capable of shooting 8K video at 30 frames per second.
