The rumored Meizu 22 chip is not the Snapdragon 8 Elite

Release Meizu 22 has been delayed more than once, but this week the company finally opened pre-order. While previous reports indicated that the phone would be powered by Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, fresh information from Digital Chat Station suggests otherwise.

According to the insider, the Meizu 22 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. The chip is built on TSMC's 4nm process and uses a "1+7" configuration, with one high-performance Cortex-X4 core and seven Cortex-A720 cores with different clock speeds. The graphics are handled by the Adreno 825 GPU.

All of this is powered by a 5500mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging. The phone is expected to ship with Flyme AIOS based on Android 15, and leaks suggest that it may also have IP68 protection.

Meizu previously stated that after the latest delay, the Meizu 22 launch will take place in early-mid September. The company has not yet confirmed a new date, but an announcement should be made soon. We will definitely keep you posted.
